Make plans now to attend the Fall Native Plant Sale, Birding & Pollinator Festival on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Audubon Trails Nature Center.  It will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.  We are co-sponsoring this event with the Meramec Hills Chapter of the Missouri Master Naturalists and the Missouri Master Gardeners.  We plan to make this an annual event.

Fall is a great time to plant native wildflowers, shrubs, vines and grasses and to get inspiration for next year’s garden.  Planting native is beneficial to insects, birds and wildlife.  There will be over 800 plants from Doolittle Gardens and additional plants from Missouri Wildflowers Nursery.  Information on planting, how to deal with invasive plants and an “Ask a Naturalist” booth will be available.

Other offerings will include a “Backyard Birder” booth with Mike Doyen, Bluebird and Birds-I-View booths for those interested in birding and bird feeding.  You can get a head start on Christmas shopping!

Information about Monarch butterflies and pollinators, birding and wildflower and prairie walks will also be offered.  Our chapter will also sell food and drink items during the event.

Do you have a friend interested in joining Audubon?  Want to become a Friend of Audubon or make a donation?  We can take care of that as well.  All chapter proceeds from this event will benefit Audubon Trails Nature Center.

Hope to see you there.
